It wasn't surprising to anyone that Sirius remained next to his brother for about half a second before running across the platform and hugging someone from behind. Sure, most older students showed more dignity or at least pretended to have it, but Sirius couldn't be arsed with any of that, not when he felt like the weight had finally been lifted off his chest.

This would have been mildly embarrassing if he had been hugging the wrong scrawny Gryffindor here, but no. It was definitely Remus that was earning a kiss on the cheek by virtue of being the first of his friends he'd spotted.
